IO connectors on Parallella rev0

Hi there,

I just wanted to ask if anyone has come across any other breakout board than ZX130-BSH by Zebax for Parallela or a ribbon cable? The problem of ZX130-BSH in my application is that I need a lower height.

Hey,

There were at least two requests earlier in this thread for positioning information on the Samtec connectors, but no one replied. (The reference manual has some dimensions w.r.t. the edges of the connectors in the 3.4" long dimension, but nothing in the 2.15" short dimension.) In addition to the exact Samtec positions, a daughter card design needs the exact centers of the four holes, which are likewise unspecified.

I know the the github repository has the mechanical design, but these are PRO/E files, hence unreadable by the average hobbyist. I might be able to reverse-engineer the relevant dimensions from a combination of the Gerbers and the Samtec datasheet, but I would feel a lot better if one of the Adapteva people, or someone with access to their pro software packages, could generate a simple diagram with the relevant dimensions clearly labeled.

Perhaps this has already been addressed? I combed through the forums but couldn't find it.

This might help. If I am reading it right the connectors are in the same place for rev 0 and rev 1 (and presumably 1.1 that most of us will be getting at first).

The connectors are different for Gen0 and Gen1!
I will update manual with exact placement information asap.

The positions I pasted in the forum post above are for the Rev1.

The dead giveaway is that the hole position wrt to the edge is symmetical in rev1 while for rev0 they're slighty different for each hole.
