Sounds like there's not much to troubleshoot then. It's been a few hours and I still don't see my MAC address showing up on the website, so not sure what's left to debug with.

Too bad though, sounded like a clever project.

Jason,
If you PM or post your mac-id, then I will take a look at the resin.io internal system dasboard. There is some information there that is not visible on the web. There are a some boards that have failed to connect, so getting to the bottom of this will really help!

btw. if there is anything really wrong with the image or sd card, you will be able to see it with the serial cable. The pre kernel messages from uboot do come up on the serial cable output.

Do some specific ports have to be opened for the parallella supercomputer image to work properly ? My school has a DMZ in which I can put the cards, but sysadmin needs to know which ports to open, by default only SSH is opened for remote server management.

EDIT: I just saw that the card is available right now without even needing the DMZ network, well then I guess I won't bother giving it to the sysadmin Or maybe is the card available because it broadcasts regularly its presence (outgoing) but on the D day, the requests (the commands and data) will be blocked by the FW (ingoing) ? I don't know how exactly the system works with Docker and the VPN Manager (resin.io).

I have the same problem. It doesn't show up on supercomputer.io. (board has been powered up for hours now).

also i have a question, if you can't ssh into the parallella, then how do you shut it down without having microsd card corruption?

[edit] it occurs to me to also ask how you check the temperature of the two processor chips in this configuration?

For the temp, without SSH I guess it's impossible to check with the app xtemp, so the best is to stress test it with standard linux image and check temps are always OK via SSH, then use the resin.io image knowing temps are always ok, even when stressed.

I'm having the same problem.

My MAC 04:4f:8b:00:24:ab does not appear on http://supercomputer.io/#/devices, but it does appear for around 22 minutes in my router's active client list with a varying connection count, then it goes away. I can ping it while it appears in the client list, then it's unreachable.

The first time I burned the 7020 image to my Kickstarter board, it behaved the same way. I left it powered up for several days, and could never ping it again without cycling power, and it has never showed up on supercomputer/devices. Today I reburned the image, and confirmed the same behavior. Is there any logging that takes place to the SD card? (If not, why not?) What is the recommended way to connect to the serial port and capture the serial stream?
