Pre-order: details on "GPIO upgrade" purchasing option

Or, does the "upgrade" mean that the buyer would get four mating connectors that one could solder onto a custom daughter board?
Or, does the "upgrade" mean one gets a break-out board that exposes the pins as 1/10th headers?
Or, none of the above?
