Two questions on the parallella

I almost have my paraellella set up. Everything is there as in the picturew shown in quickstart, shown here:

I have two questions, however, they are:

1. How do I know if I have a high def connection or not?

2. Can I conect a mouse and if so how do I connect a mouse.

Any help appreciated.

Okay, to consider the second part first. The only connection that I have left is the USB connection on my parallella after connecting network, power and monitor. It is in the lower left hand corner of the picture shown on the link in the original question.

I assumed that was for the keyboard. There is only one connection and it would have to be for the keyboard!

You are saying to use it for both the mouse and keyboard via the USB hub. Connect mouse and keyboard to USB hub and connect the hub to the single USB.

Is that the way to do it?

Yes, it's a standard USB port and as such it can be used just about any USB peripheral in principle. So, if you want to connect a keyboard and mouse, you will need a USB hub — just as with any other computer that has only one USB port.

Although I am using a powered USB Hub so I can plug in USB sticks, my keyboard and mouse are a wireless pair from Logitech, the K330 which is fairly inexpensive. It worked right out of the box, plugged it in and I had a keyboard and mouse. It is the only keyboard and mouse I have ever had for the Parallella.
