Parallella Community

I am not a fan of Java, but with vast amout production code in java, I guess we should take a dive.
my finding here is, a small jave vm, http://www.rtjcom.com/main.php?p=home
seems really small, 18-24KB. quite fit on epiphany.

I will take a look. Anyone has thought of Java as well?

The best way I can think of getting this working is by adding a target to the llvm compiler back end
there are front ends that can read java that are already well developed, if memory serves one of the best ones is in the openjdk project.

The idea is that the java is compiled on the arm then loaded onto our parallel processor.

this method should let us get a functioning jvm without having to become experts in how it works.

llvm has support for jit
with a jit compatible backend
the java interpretater runs on the arm core and does a hotspot compile using llvm, the back end lets us have the compiled code run on the epiphany
