Hi all,
My knowledge of the low-level side of Linux is next to non-existent so please bear with me. A friend is building an operating system that sort of hovers above existing resources, whether they be other OSs, or (online) services and/or devices. The OS connects to a host system using a DOS layer and leverages a GUI through WebKit. A version that plugs right into Linux is built also: the set of resources become the ‘computer’ the OS runs on, so to speak.
As I am wading through the Parallella documentation and forum I am trying to figure out if somehow this new OS would benefit from using Parallellas as a resource or maybe even the other way around.
I hope I have explained it thoroughly. Any thoughts are most definitely welcome.
You can find more information on the OS in question here: https://friendos.com/
And I shared a different — more simplistic — view on the FriendUP system here: http://shifterofbits.com/friends-with-the-enemy/
Cheers!
