The red LED?

Postby notzed » Fri Aug 09, 2013 11:50 am

So what's the red LED telling me?

I forgot I had the thing on and when I went back to the xterm it was logged in from a few hours later it was unresponsive. I then noticed a red LED next to the epiphany chip IIRC.

A power cycle fixed it ok.

Sorry if this is listed in some manual somewhere ...

There are two red LEDs: the output flag of the USB power switch and the flag of the Epiphany. Neither should light up during typical operation but we have seen them light up when things go wrong. It most likely indicates a power rail failure. (like if the board is left on for a long time without a fan or if the 5V input cable connector which is not snug enough glitched). With a fan, we have seen the board work for days without failure. Let us know if the problem comes up again.

Ok thanks, might just be inadequate cooling which is easy to address.
