DMA unit in HDL

Postby tnt » Thu Feb 28, 2013 9:08 am

Hi,

From what I understand, using the DMA unit in the core to read from global memory isn't ideal and in general it's better to write to the core from outside than asking the core to read.

So, wouldn't it make sense to implement a small DMA unit inside the PL of the Zynq ?

Cheers,

Sylvain

how about DMA between host and onboard memory or let e-core to access video buffer directly. don't know whether it is the same thing.
