How to test programs without a parallella?

So as I'm now eagerly awaiting my october(probably later) delivery, I'd like to get started on software development for the epiphany, but I'm not sure what I can do so far.

I've got the ESDK compiled and all, so now I can compile simple test programs and emulate them with e-run, but none of the examples in https://github.com/adapteva/epiphany-examples even work in there(probably because they use inter-core communication stuff).

Ask one of the nice folks here who have offered network access to one of their boards or wait for Gravis to finish his emulator.
