So I tried re-imaging my parallella with the old Ubuntu image (2015.1), and everything works fine. The GPIOs start from 0, and I am able to write to them no problem.

So that's an issue with the latest release it would seem.

Should I open an issue on Github? Not sure about the protocol on such things.
