That's a good idea @anlumo I think I will knock up a protoboard to test the template I am building, it will be a nice quick win..

I was under the impression that Parallella would be released first, then work on daughter cards afterwards. I think becoming 'Something for Everything' is not necessarily a bad thing. Even if someone's grandma buys a board and only uses it for surfing the web, that is still spreading the word.

I've been thinking in building a notebook with a couple of parallelas inside
It could be quite powerful and consume very little.
Thoughts on this?

Hello,
I am new here, not among the original supporters, but signed up later for a second run card.
My interest is mainly in SDR, mostly for playing with radio astronomy interferometry.
There, the requirements are a bit different than the usual SDR stuff. What is needed is a higher sample rate with less precision, 8 bits are plenty. More channels are desirable, too.
So maybe a card with eight fast 8bit converters, with the option to assign the PEC bandwidth to either one, two, four or all eight channels. With 1GB/s PEC BW, this would mean 1x 8bits @ 1GHz, 2x 8 bits @ 500MHz, etc.
Would be also useful for making an oscilloscope.
The channels should have simultaneous sampling, and it would be nice if the hardware would allow timestamps to be inserted into the data stream, for example derived from an external 1pps signal.
