If you face a problem while booting, please boot without connecting HDMI and USB devices, then connect devices after booting.
HDMI switcher and USB switcher are convenient to do so.
The green Ethernet LED blinks in 10-20 seconds after power-on when it successfully boots.
If the LED does not blink, press the reset button and try again.

Does anyone have a list of the Parallella-specific components (things not part of Ubuntu) required to make this boot and run? Because I'd really like to try a minimal Debian install on mine. It's a lot easier to build up what you need than it is to strip out all of the Ubuntu cruft and obfuscation; too many dependencies. How it ever found a home in embedded projects is beyond me. Only reason I can think of is that Ubuntu == Linux for a lot of people.

For starters, is the kernel custom (w.r.t. Ubuntu that is)?

I've with a link to a page for this (in red — needs creating). Do you think you could create the page and add details? I'm happy to do this, but better you get the credit and it should be largely a case of cut and paste.
