eLink FPGA project vivado 2015.1

Opening the parallella project.

i get this msg

This project was created using an older version of vivado. It is strongly recommended that you backup the project prior to migrationby opening the project in this older version (v2014.3) and running file->Archive Project. This will ensure all sources, including any IPs used by the design, are preserved properly.

It takes a while to download and install vivado. Can i run this project and upgrade it, without the need to open it in v2014.3?

I couldn't say for certain, but based on FPGA tool anecdote my gut feeling is to suggest that you use precisely the same version as the Adapteva guys are!
