The Release notes aren't there yet, and the links to the binaries get 404 file not found errors.

I found some bugs on parabuntu-2016.11.1-hdmi-z7010.img.gz:

1) USB port not working correctly, when I debug it using lsusb it prompt some error message and the attached usb devices were not working.

2) HDMI not working correctly, I believe it was the HDMI that did not detect the monitor screen resolution and display it on a correct resolution based on the monitor screen. I have tested it on 2 different monitors which one turn out to be total black screen and another one which only display a portion of the screen itself.

One comment and one question about this release:

Comment: the screensaver (xscreensaver 5.30 as I remember) did not, for me, unlock when provided with the correct password. This isn't a problem in the environment in which the Parallella lives, but wss an annoyance. I purged the package.

Question: the user parallella belongs to three groups - 1001 (admin), 1002 (bluetooth), and 1003 (pulse-access) that are in the customary Debian/Ubuntu range for private user groups. There are no such users defined to the OS, and no files with those values as gid. I want to create additional users and for network and system administration reasons want to assign those values to new user IDs and corresponding private group IDs. Is there a reason that requires those groups to have those particular values or can I change them to other values in the system group range without causing myself future difficulties?

I am using ParaUbuntu 2016.11 on a microserver and so far no problems. I have not played around with the Parallella in almost a year. I must say the new release is a big improvement in my opinion especially for someone like myself who is a novice in this area of computing. I think with the changes that have been made I will be able to move forward learning about parallel programming. Thanks for the effort it took to make this happen.

I can verify two of the problems described in your post:

X-screensaver won't accept password to unlock. I actually ended up shutting down to get out of it from VNC. I simply disabled the screensaver since I don't need it anyway using a remote display.
I can't get the USB port to work at all. I tried multiple adapters and various USB gadgets. I get the same error message as you with lsusb.

However, HDMI is working fine for me. Because I can't use the USB, I use VNC to connect to the display (or just SSH in most of the time).

As a follow-up, I was able to get the USB port working using a powered USB hub. I tried both a non-powered hub and a direct micro-USB cable and those would not work.

So if you are having problems with the USB, try a powered USB hub.

Got the 2016.11.1 release running on my Kickstarter Parallella, Built Boinc, and have the Seti and Seti Beta apps running on it.

HDMI Works at 1920*1200, But there is a lot of screen corruption happening, has there been fpga voltage changes since the earlier images?
