Parallella Community

I'll be receiving my Parallella in a couple of days. Since I've been using Gentoo on all my machines for the last two years I was wondering if anyone has already tried to run it on the Parallella.

If not, I'll be posting any relevant updates here and on the Gentoo forums.

I just got my board running last night based on these instructions: http://www.parallella.org/create-sdcard/
My board came, i think about ~2 weeks back, but I spent some time carefully getting all the recommended accessories I needed from this forum & thankfully it ran on first boot!!

With that being said, Next I would LOVE to get Gentoo running on my Parallella - assuming that Gentoo will compile & optimize for this boards hardware & idiosyncracies - please feel free to reach out to me if you need help experimenting with getting it Ported or what not but disclaimer, Ive been using Arch Linux a lot but am a noob to Gentoo...

All that should be required to get your distro of choice running on Parallella is an armhf architecture root filesystem, and then just populate the BOOT volume with the same files as used with the official Ubuntu image.

However, note that at this point the Parallella supplied kernel must be used as changes have not yet been upstreamed to kernel.org.
