I had the same problem. Booting stopped around the same position.
Try the HDMI version, even when you want to use it headless.
I assume the "headless" files have some problems in it...

Thanks for your inputs. I tried the latest suggested HDMI kernel (uImage), device file and parallella bit stream,
the kernel is unable to boot, stops at message "booting the kernel" after the kernel is uncompressed.
Attachment contains the log.

Can any body please share the working uImage kernel for , device tree and parallella.bin.bit bit stream file compiled for
either headless or hdmi ARM Zync 7010 with 16 Core Epiphany as email attachment or as link on parallella
git hub.

I understand that all this has been working for a while on boards other folks are using. Some how I
am unable to make it work on my board

I have same issue with headless configuration.
On my board I can boot headless but only once after recreating SD from scratch.
Second boot lead to:

On next morning I'll try HDMI configuration.

When I changed headless files to HDMI on BOOT partition device started to boot without any problem.

Hi all,

I have few questions in mind.

I managed to install Ubuntu on the P16 board in the morning.
At the moment I can only login to P16 by ssh. I need to buy an adapter for D-Sub to mini HDMI
or figure out how to install Xorg without monitor.

First of all, I use Colemak keyboard layout for English typing in Debian Wheezy.
I assume setting up Colemak keyboard in Ubuntu is almost identical to Debian.

The second question is to about sound system.
P16 board doesn't have a sound card. So I think I will need to plug in a USB sound card, then install
sound driver and multimedia software. Am I understanding it right?
