As an outsider, may I make a suggestion?

If you drop the flash memory chip, please replace it with an USB hub one.
There seems to have been a lot of trouble with external hub, so it would be a good idea to avoid requiring one. 2 USB ports of standart size would be good to add mass storage and a wireless dongle (wifi or bluetooth).
For the desktop edition of the parallella, 2 more standart size ports may help add a keyborad and a mouse without fuss.

As I said, just a suggestion...

One suggestion is use the new generation Zynq from Xilinx, which may help for 64bit apps

I need dual ethernet for parallel networking applications. Also 1Gbit ethernet is going to become obsolete soon, 2Gbit ethernet should be supported.

I also would like to see USB 3.0 support. It is very cheap alternative for high speeds. Texas Insturment's USB 3 microcontroller costs around 3 bucks. I know PCI Express is too much to ask, but to connect Parallella to the CPU and be able to offset calculation tasks, high speed interface is needed. USB 3.0 is the best way to do this and it will support up to 127 devices, if the motheboard supports USB 3.0 on 4 ports, you could reach the 16 GB/sec with 4 USB v3.0 cables, matching the PCI express bus if you use 4 Parallella boards on the other side.
