coprthr_dmalloc to "device memory"

Postby nickoppen » Sat Apr 09, 2016 12:13 am

Hello,

Looking at the nbody example and the documentation the code:

Code: Select all
   coprthr_mem_t p_mem = coprthr_dmalloc(dd,N*sizeof(Particle), 0);
   coprthr_dwrite(dd,p_mem,0,particles,N*sizeof(Particle),COPRTHR_E_WAIT);

allocates some "device memory" and writes to it.

Is this memory on a core or the shared memory?

I suspect that it is shared memory and thus is equivalent to a clmalloc and clmsync combination in stdcl.

You're welcome, Nick. I'm glad they're being used by a handful of people. I will have many more, hopefully, once I get approved to release them. Things will be greatly improved from what software development looks like today.
