Using the Eclipse Runtime for host debugging

Postby nickoppen » Sun Jan 17, 2016 3:27 am

Hello,

After a question from fbt I had another look at the Eclipse environment. I've been intending to revisit Eclipse for a year now to check if my original post is still valid. It turns out that using eclipse on the 2015.1 image has not changed from the previous image. The only thing that has changed is the need to run the application as root via the sudo command.

Running the application as a normal user also allows you to use the Eclipse runtime environment to run and debug your programs. This was just too hard before and was the main reason I switched to Code::Blocks. As normal there are a couple of setup steps you need to do before it will work. I've put together a quick "getting started" post to go through the basics. You can read it at: http://nicksparallellaideas.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/eclipse-part-2-host-debugging-with.html.

Have fun.
