is x86_64 cross compile sdk working

I downloaded the version 5 sdk to test on zedboard E16. seems the none of the sdk/example makefile pointing to a-gcc for cross compiling host program.

Is it tested working?

I've built programs with this version of the toolchain and used them while developing my simulator, for what it's worth. I haven't had any issues.

I am questioning the build script, such as epiphany-libs/build-libs.sh, or build.sh under examples.
Depends on how do you want to run the host program,
By default the host program makefile should call a-gcc to have cross compilation, i.e build at x86 system run at parallella board.
Only when we want to run host program at simulated environment, the makefile calls x86 gcc.

also I just tried the cross compiler from esdk.5.13.07.10_linux_x86_64_armv7l.tgz
it is not working. not passing hello world test on zedboard.
the one works for me is from ubuntu distro arm-linux-gnueabihf-
