New version of SDK - Progress?

Hi Adapteva guys.
There has been mention on the forum about a new version of the SDK with new goodies and ability to cross compile.
How is the progress on this going?

Nothing cogent just yet. I was mainly wondering whether the new version of the SDK would change anything in the API. Will anything in the reference manual be obsolete?
