DIY Source for Samtec Connectors?

Has anybody found a low-volume source for the BTH-030-01-FDA connector yet? Without that, all great plans for daughter cards are pointless…

I think you can purchase quite limited quantities online from Samtec. I did so a couple of years ago for a very small number of connectors.

Yes, I ordered some from samtec directly. It's not that cheap but for a few connectors it works. It might make sense to make a grouped order if a lot of people are interested (to get 100+ pricing).

No I'm not planning on selling them. I don't have many connectors myself and hand soldering is a pain. To make it cost effective I'd need to buy a bulk of connectors and have them automatically assembled so I'd need a pretty big order to make it cost-effecive.

I can send you the gerbers if you want, I used OSH Park for the boards (I put solder mask in between each pin of the .5mm pitch connector to improve prevention of solder briges, and some cheap chinese fab won't do that).

I successfully received 4 Samtec connector samples for free. I'm a student so I did this on behalf of the university and everything was fine, they arrived the next week .

Well the PCB's arent the problem, I could have 250 pcb made for 150$ or so.
The connectors would be around 4/5$

But then there is assembly ... and that would probably be expensive to have those pick and placed and reflowed ...
