Case Design Files?

Postby anlumo » Tue May 06, 2014 10:15 pm

Hi,

Are the vector files for the official case available somewhere? I'd like to replace the top with a plate that can mount a fan, and it'd be easier to do if I wouldn't have to measure the little slots and the outline…

If you have access to a laser cutter and were prepared to source a few more parts you could make a new "open case" based on the design I've published.

Cheers,

I saw your case, but I don't like its (physical) openness. It's too easy that something gets in there when I'm carrying it in my bag…

In case (no pun intended) anybody is interested, here's the OpenSCAD code for the top plate (1 unit = 1mm):

Code: Select all
difference() {
   cube([98.5, 76, 3], true);

   for(i=[-1, 1]) {
      for(j=[-1,1]) {
         translate([i*(77.4+2.4)/2, j*(46.5+6.3)/2, 0])
            cube([2.4, 6.3, 5], true);
         translate([i*(73.2+15)/2, j*(70+5)/2, 0])
            cube([15, 5, 5], true);
      }
      translate([0, i*(70+5)/2, 0])
         cube([48, 5, 5], true);
   }
}
